At Renaissance College Kindergarten (RCK), we value connecting with our community and its natural environment. Outdoor Learning offers numerous benefits for both physical and mental health. The outdoor setting provides a rich sensory experience, stimulating their senses and enabling interactions with natural materials and elements. Additionally, exposure to nature and open-ended play promotes mental well-being by reducing stress and stimulating creativity. These experiences allow students to engage in activities involving calculated risks, building resilience, and creating courageous students in their learning.
Our outdoor educational approach means that our students will be participating in hands-on learning experiences in natural environments such as parks, playgrounds, forest locations, beaches and the school garden. The outdoor setting provides a rich sensory experience, stimulating their senses and enabling interactions with natural materials and elements.
Outings allow families to experience school life and learn alongside their children. It relies on volunteers to support the learning that takes place. Volunteers are present to help promote safety and engage in learning, including games, and focus activities. To ensure our students receive the best experience possible, all volunteers must complete volunteer training including child safeguarding, and adhere to the Renaissance College Volunteer Guidelines .
